A Clearer Starting Point for Your Next Move in Durham Region
A home search often starts with listings. A good plan starts with the questions behind them: What needs to change about where you live? Which everyday details matter most? And what would make a move worthwhile for you?
I'm Robert Marsiglio, a Sales Representative with Valery Real Estate Inc., Brokerage. I help buyers and sellers across Durham Region, York Region and East Toronto. This blog is a place for clear explanations, useful local context and practical next steps.
Start with the move you want to make
Before saving another listing, write down what you want your next home to do differently. That might mean space to work, fewer stairs, a different commute, room for family or less upkeep. Separate the things you need from the features that would simply be nice to have.
For sellers, the same exercise helps clarify timing and preparation. Knowing why you are moving makes it easier to decide which jobs deserve attention and which questions to resolve before listing.
Compare everyday life, not just listing photos
When considering Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering or another Durham community, look beyond the photos. Try the routes you would use, visit at different times and consider how the location fits your routine.
- How would work, errands and regular activities fit together?
- What upkeep does the property appear to need?
- Which trade-offs would you accept, and which would bother you every day?
- What information do you still need before making a decision?
A simple comparison sheet can make those differences easier to see. Use the same questions for every home so one attractive feature doesn't overshadow the rest of the decision.
